We sent the same slides to these three different companies, Legacy Box, Costco & Walgreen's and had them process the same slides to digital images. Legacy box was the most recent but we still keep the others for demonstration purposes: Costco and Walgreen's up there just for comparison and to show what you might have gotten from some of our more famous competitors. Legacy Box is right now probably our biggest competitor. And we can't compete with their millions? of dollars of advertising. We CAN compete with our results though and not only compete but EXCEL. The differences are striking to say the least. Really, the only fair way to test these types of services is to send them the same slides and see how their results compare. I have no idea how Legacy Box got so many seemingly high value recommendations such as from "Good House Keeping" and maybe it is because they buy ads in the magazine. Or, whoever hands out the glowing reviews does not do any real research other than ask Legacy Box how glowing the review should be. It is hard to believe that anyone would give them a good recommendation after seeing our scanning test results with the exact same slides. |

On average, orders take roughly 6-8 weeks to digitize once arriving to our facility. 3/25/2022 Online "Submit a Request" to Legacy box | What is Taking So Long? order # @#$%& I'm beginning to think that maybe you shipped my order to India for processing and that would account for why it has now been 78 days since you received my 50 slide order and 21 days since your last message to me that "The next step is for your order to enter the digitizing process! This means our team will digitally convert your items by hand." So, what is the status of my project? Is it still in India or is it in Mexico or North Korea? When will it be done? It is only 50 slides. Please: no COVID excuses. That is done and no longer a good excuse for poor service. I guess now the thing to do is blame everything on PUTIN. |

3/30/2022 We're scanning your photos! | Your order has been assigned to one of our amazing photo digitization specialists who has started processing your order. I know we may have mentioned it, but did you know other companies outsource their photo scanning? Not here - we're digitizing your photos in our processing facility here in the USA! Our technicians will scan, rotate, and crop each image by hand. After they've scanned all the images and reviewed them, they'll master your digital files. Your CD or thumb drive will contain high-resolution digital images (JPEG) of every photo. You'll be able to store, share, e-mail, and even make new prints from your scanned images. If you ordered a CD, it will even work in a Kodak Photo Kiosk, making printing easy. |
3/30/2022 Heads up on your order | We wanted to let you know that we're unable to digitize one or more of the items you sent in. While we support 19 different format types, including almost all consumer formats of videotapes, photos, film reels and audio, unfortunately one or more of the items you sent in are not on that supported list. However, we'd be happy to offer a credit for this item(s) toward a future order! You can reach out to the customer support team. They'd be happy to set this up for you! There was no mention on the order form that they could not scan certain slides. The 127 type slides were pretty common back in the day. They had the slides for so many months and could have notified me but they did not. They could have given me a refund for the slides that they were not able to scan but, they did not. They are willing to give me a "credit" for a future order of which I will have to start the process all over again and pay for a minimum order of 25 slides and the shipping costs and have to wait almost 3 months to get them back. This could have been handled much better but this way it benefits Legacy Box and not the customer. |
4/2/2022 UPS Update: Package Scheduled for Delivery Today | Your package is arriving today. Southtree is one of the names that "Legacy Box" had before it rebranded itself as Legacy Box supposedly "founded by two "brothers", frick and frack. I suspect a fairy tale for advertising purposes here. You should have seen all their "angry customers" on the BBB page for Southtree. Not there anymore but we saved them just for you. BBB deletes reviews after two years, good or bad. They also have a branch or version or iteration of the same business called "Kodak Digitizing".
